Nick has worked across the whole of insurance: as a broker advising clients on risk and claims, as an underwriter assessing risk, pricing and designing products, and as an executive leading large personal and commercial portfolios for leading insurers.

As a broker, Nick provides advice on Commercial and Personal insurance products and also advises commercial clients on risk management and transfer solutions.

He holds the NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) and is a member of IBANZ, the Chartered Insurance Institute and ANZIIF.

He has previously sat on industry committees including: Marine - Insurance Council of New Zealand, Discover Boating - NZ Marine, and NZ Committee - YIPS.

As a Director of Better Insurance, Sam brings his extensive governance, commercial leadership, distribution experience, technology insight, and the backing of the wider Better group. His experience across finance, motor, digital, marketing, and customer experience areas helps shape our approach, align with our customer base, including how people actually buy, manage, and think about insurance.

Sam founded the business behind Better Finance, one of New Zealand’s leading finance brokerages and a provider of advice for personal loans and asset finance in New Zealand and Australia.

In addition, Sam's held roles including Head of Innovation at AA Finance, and he has spent his career building businesses that put customers first.
